I am a Physical rehab nurse and for a very long time have recognized the importance of massage not just as a  luxury  but as a tool to manage pain and assist the maintenance , healing, and recovery of the body. .   If you win the massage for a year, congratulations, but if you do not, a regular massage as part of your preventive/ maintenance health schedule  is something you should consider to put in your budget, at least monthly, as an important part of taking care of yourself. In western medicine, massage was a more common maintenance and healing tool prior to managed care.   Any intervention that has to be paid for out of pocket in this insurance based economy is one that is strongly needed for EVERYONE.  No one in today's world has a low stress life.  All of us try to do as many of the things that we can ( right amount of sleep, exercise, relaxation etc...)  but the demands on us are just very great.  I am very thankful for winning the massage for a month this year, for at PCCHH from the moment you walk into the door the wonderful atmosphere and aroma along with the competent and attentive staff begin the process of "rebooting" ones computer.  This made sure I did not miss a month and I can state that even though I have been a regular customer,  this just validates the crucial need for at least a monthly visit to maintain a healthy " me", thanks "  N.
